The aim of this work was to make an enviro-hygienic (chemical and microbiological) assessment for the waste water treatment systems in the VillageWaters-project partner countries.

Installation of technological systems for wastewater treatment

The report is part of the activity A3.2 called ‘Building the technological system in the pilots’. The aim of the A3.2 was to build up the pilots in the VillageWaters project and describe that on this report.

Guidelines for the best technical solutions and practices for the wastewater treatment in scattered dwelling areas

The guidelines will consider the key issues of procurement of a waste treatment system, such as how to buy new technology, how to evaluate its inputs and costs compared to other systems, how to operate with the maintenance, how to co-operate within village water cooperatives and how to communicate on the intentions, options and results. The guidelines also give basic information of the wastewater treatment systems and describe why they are used and how they impact local waters and the Baltic Sea, as well as the global environment.

VillageWaters Project
VillageWaters suggest most effective wastewater treatment solutions in scattered dwellings households, which use their own, independently operated water purification systems.

Helping Homeowners
Environmentally oriented families and homeowners, who live in scattered dwellings areas, where connecting to larger wastewater plants is not option because rural distances.
